Nancy Bass is Professor of Neurology, Chief of Child Neurology and the Bleser Family Endowed Chair of Neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She is currently the Director of the Neuromuscular program and Co-Director of the Neurogenetics program.

She is certified by the ABPN in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology and participates in continuing certification. As an ABPN Director, Dr. Bass serves on the Neurology Council and on several committees.

Dr. Bass has over 20 years of experience as a Child Neurology Residency Director. She has won numerous teaching awards in her career and received the Child Neurology Society National Training Director Award in October 2024. She also received Fellow Distinction for the Child Neurology Society (FCNS) in 2024. Dr. Bass served as the President of the Professors and Educators of Child Neurology and is currently serving as the Chairperson of the Child Neurology Society Educators Committee. She was recently selected as a new member of the ACGME Neurology Review Committee.  She has served on the Board of Directors for the Child Neurology Society as the Councilor to the Midwest, as well as the Board of Directors for the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialities (UCNS). She also served as a senior associate editor for the Pediatric Neurology journal and was on the ACGME Milestones 2.0 committee.
