Changes to Online Credit Card Payments in 2024

Posted: 10/25/23

ABPN certification and continuing certification fees will remain unchanged in 2024. ABPN will implement a new option for online payments. For those who choose to pay the fees for initial specialty or subspecialty certification exam fees over time, ABPN will use a third-party vendor, Affirm, to simplify those split payments. The applicant can determine the payment schedule and Affirm will collect installment payments and any applicable interest.

For those who choose to pay exam fees in their entirety upfront, and for everyone paying their continuing certification annual fees, it will still be possible to pay by credit card, debit card, or electronic check. ABPN will charge a convenience fee for credit card payments only, as is common practice to help support the costs of processing such payments. Payments by debit card or electronic check will not be subject to a convenience fee. All fees and payment options will be clearly described in your Physician Portal so you can choose which payment option works best for you.
