Lapsed Certification: How to Regain Certification

Lapsed Primary Certification (Psychiatry, Neurology, or Child Neurology):

Unlike the traditional 10-Year CC examination, which provides a quick pass/fail decision, the ABCC assessment pathway does not issue a final performance decision until the end of the 3-year assessment cycle, regardless of how quickly the article examinations are completed within that 3-year assessment cycle.

Please read the guide on how to regain certification after a lapse in certification in the Lapsed Certification FAQ document.

Lapsed Subspecialty Certification(s):

A diplomate with an active primary certification in the CC Program, or an active Lifetime Certification, may regain lapsed subspecialty certification(s) through the ABCC Pathway or the traditional 10-Year CC examination. Please refer to the ABCC FAQs and CC booklet for more details.
