Iqbal "Ike" Ahmed, MD

Dr. Iqbal “Ike” Ahmed is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Geriatric Medicine at John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), University of Hawaii. He was formerly the Vice-Chair for Education, and the director of the General and Geriatric Psychiatry training programs at the University of Hawaii, JABSOM.

Dr. Ahmed is certified by the ABPN in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and participates in continuing certification. As an ABPN Director, Dr. Ahmed serves on the Psychiatry Council and as the Chair of the Psychiatry ABCC Committee and the Vice Chair of the Geriatric Psychiatry ABCC Committee.

Dr. Ahmed was a member of the ACGME Psychiatry Residency Review Committee, and the chair of the Geriatric Psychiatry Milestones work group.  He was the Associate Editor for the Adult Psychiatry Resident In-Training Examination (PRITE). He is a member of the Board of Regents for the American College of Psychiatrists. He was a President of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry and was a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Assembly. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award and the Jack Weinberg Award of the APA. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) and the recipient of the Bowis Award by the American College of Psychiatrists. He is an author and co-editor of the book Mental Health in Older People Across Cultures (Oxford University Press, 2025).

Sheldon Benjamin, MD

Dr. Benjamin is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Neurology and Director of Neuropsychiatry at the University of Massachusetts T H Chan School of Medicine. He previously served as Residency Program Director at UMass Chan for 25 years, Interim Department Chair, Director of the UMass Chan Behavioral Neurology Neuropsychiatry Fellowship and co-director of the Adult Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Fellowship program.

He is certified by the ABPN in Psychiatry and Neurology and participates in continuing certification. He also is certified by the UCNS in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry. As an ABPN Director, Dr. Benjamin serves on the Psychiatry Council and many other ABPN committees. Dr. Benjamin also serves on the ACGME Psychiatry Review Committee.

Dr. Benjamin is the Secretary of the International Neuropsychiatric Association, a past president of the American Neuropsychiatric Association (ANPA) and American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training (AADPRT), a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a fellow of the ANPA and the American Academy of Neurology. He is the recipient of the UMass Chan Chancellor’s Medal for Distinguished Teaching, the ANPA Gary Tucker Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award, and the AADPRT Lifetime Service Award.

Robert J. Boland, MD

Dr. Boland is Vice Chair of the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine, The Brown Foundation Endowed Chair in Psychiatry at Baylor and the Chief of Staff at the Menninger Clinic in Houston, TX. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the Vice Chair for Education at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He was the residency training director for the Brigham and Women’s/Harvard Medical School Psychiatry Residency.

He is certified by the ABPN in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and participates in continuing certification. As an ABPN Director, Dr. Boland serves on the Psychiatry Council and as Chair and Vice Chair of several ABPN committees.

He is the past president for the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (now the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry), the American Association of Directors of Residency Training and the Association for Academic Psychiatry and a former member of the Board of Regents for the American College of Psychiatrists. Dr. Boland is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties where he chairs the Committee on Certification (COCERT).  He is also the 2026 Program Chair for the American College of Psychiatrists.

Takesha J. Cooper, MD, MS

Dr. Cooper is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Board-certified in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the ABPN, she actively participates in continuing certification. As an ABPN Psychiatry Director, Dr. Cooper contributes to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Certification Committee and several other ABPN committees.

A Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, she is also a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American College of Psychiatrists, and the American Association of Chairs of Departments of Psychiatry. Additionally, she is a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

 

Sandra M. DeJong, MD

Sandra M. DeJong, MD, MSc, is the Senior Consultant in the Department of Psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) and Associate Professor, Part Time, at Harvard Medical School. She is also a solo private practitioner and co-investigator on an educational grant to improve child psychiatry training in medical schools. She previously served as Program Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at CHA, as well as Interim Division Chief.

She is certified by the ABPN in Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and participates in continuing certification. At ABPN, she serves on the Psychiatry Council and a variety of committees.

Dr. DeJong is past Secretary of the American Psychiatric Association, past President of the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training and past Editor of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency in-Training Examination. She is a member of ACGME's Psychiatry Residency Review Committee. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the APA, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the American College of Psychiatrists.

 

 

David C. Henderson, MD

Dr. Henderson is Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Psychiatrist-in-Chief at the Boston Medical Center Health System and Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA. He is certified by the ABPN in Psychiatry and participates in continuing certification. As an ABPN director, Dr. Henderson serves on the Psychiatry Council and many other ABPN committees.

Jed Magen, DO, MS

Dr. Magen is Chair, Department of Psychiatry in the College of Human Medicine and the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University. He was formerly residency training director in the department. Prior to entering psychiatry, he was a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service, serving as a General Medical Officer in the Indian Health Service.

He is certified by the ABPN in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry and is participating in continuing certification. Dr. Magen served on the Executive Council of the American Association of Directors of Psychiatry Residency Education. He is a past president of the American Association of Chairs of Departments of Psychiatry, of the Michigan Psychiatric Society and of the American Osteopathic College of Neurologists and Psychiatrists. He was a director of the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry. He was a representative from the training directors and chairs groups to the AAMC Council of Faculty and Academic Societies and is a fellow of the American College of Psychiatrists. He served as Vice Chair of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Residency Review Committee for Psychiatry.

Andrea G. Stolar, MD

Dr. Stolar is Professor of Psychiatry and Advisory Dean for the School of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston TX. Formerly the Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Stolar continues to serve BCM trainees and students as faculty for the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship and as advisor to the Office of Student Affairs.

She is certified by the ABPN in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry and participates in continuing certification. As an ABPN Director, Dr. Stolar serves on the Psychiatry Council, as Treasurer, and as a Chair and Co-Chair of several ABPN committees.

Dr. Stolar served as Vice Chair of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Residency Review Committee for Psychiatry and previously chaired the Forensic Psychiatry Working Group, Subspecialty Milestone Project, and as a member of the Forensic Psychiatry Milestones 2.0 Work Group. A Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Dr. Stolar served on the Council on Psychiatry and the Law, and the Committee on Psychiatry in the Workplace.
