Dr. Iqbal “Ike” Ahmed is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Geriatric Medicine at John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), University of Hawaii. He was formerly the Geriatric Psychiatry and General Psychiatry Residency Program director at the University of Hawaii, JABSOM.

Dr. Ahmed is certified by the ABPN in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and participates in continuing certification. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK).

Dr. Ahmed has been a member of the ACGME Psychiatry Residency Review Committee and was the chair of the Geriatric Psychiatry Milestones work group.  He was the Associate Editor for the Adult Psychiatry Resident In-Training Examination (PRITE) and is a past president of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. Dr. Ahmed was a member of the American Psychiatric Association Assembly and is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award.
